Here’s what’s currently in the bag and why.
Driver Titleist TSR2. Went through a proper fitting instead of just buying off the shelf, and it made a bigger difference than I expected. The hosel adjustability let the fitter dial in the launch and spin numbers instead of guessing.
Woods Been going back and forth on 3-wood vs 5-wood for my second shot into longer par 5s and tight par 4s. The 5-wood is easier for me to get airborne consistently, the 3-wood has more distance when I actually catch it clean. Still figuring out which one earns a permanent spot.
Irons and Wedges Standard set, nothing exotic. Wedges are where I’ve noticed the most improvement lately just from actually practicing short game instead of only hitting range balls off a mat.
Ball and Accessories Nothing crazy here, just consistent ball choice and keeping a rangefinder in the bag for actual yardages instead of guessing.
Fitting matters more than people think. If you’re serious about the game at all, get fit for at least your driver before buying one off a shelf.
